Recommended Gongfu Brewing Method

  • For a 120 mL (4 fl oz) teapot or gaiwan, use 4 g (0.14 oz) of tea.

  • For the first infusion, steep the tea for 35 seconds in water at a temperature of 90°C (194°F).

  • For each subsequent infusion, increase the steeping time by 10 seconds.

  • This tea is good for 4 infusions.

  • Use spring water or purified water. Do not use tap water.

  • Jingshan Tea is a green tea from Jingshan Town in Yuhang District, Hangzhou City, known for its light color and lasting flavor.

With a long history of tea production dating back to the Tang Dynasty, Jingshan Town is notable for its tea culture. The “Jingshan Tea Banquet” from Jingshan Temple significantly influenced the formation of the Japanese tea ceremony.

  • Our Jingshan Tea is sourced from Pingshan Village at the foot of the Jingshan Scenic Area. The tea leaves are harvested from the first picking before the Qingming solar term, consisting mainly of high-grade one bud and two leaves. After a winter of dormancy, the tea trees accumulate rich nutrients. The low temperatures before Qingming slow the growth of the tea trees, resulting in low yet precious yields.

  • The dry leaves of this Jingshan Tea are yellow-green, with tender buds covered in fine hair. A gentle sniff reveals sweet and chestnut aromas.

When brewed, the tea soup exudes a lasting sweet fragrance with subtle floral and fruity notes. The flavor is fresh, sweet, mellow, and free of bitterness, leaving a moisturizing and salivating aftertaste.
