Recommended Gongfu Brewing Method

  • For a 120 mL (4 fl oz) teapot or gaiwan, use 4 g (0.14 oz) of tea.

  • For the first infusion, steep the tea for 30 seconds in water at a temperature of 90°C (194°F).

  • For each subsequent infusion, increase the steeping time by 10 seconds.

  • This tea is good for 4 infusions.

  • Use spring water or purified water. Do not use tap water.

  • West Lake Longjing is a green tea from the West Lake district of Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. Celebrated for its unique appearance, aroma, and flavor, along with its rich history, it holds the most prestigious status among China's green teas.

  • Our West Lake Longjing was harvested from Longmenkan Village in late March, before the Qingming solar term. During this period, the low temperatures slow down the tea tree's growth, resulting in low yet precious yields. Each bud has accumulated rich nutrients during the winter hibernation, enhancing the tea's fragrance and flavor.

We also opted for leaves from the Quntizhong tea trees—genetically diverse local varieties compared to the newly developed Longjing #43 variety. This genetic diversity results in buds and leaves that are not only more robust but also richer in aroma and flavor. Entirely handcrafted, our Longjing distinguishes itself with a fuller taste than teas produced with mechanical assistance.

  • When brewed, this Longjing exudes a tender hint of roasted pea, a signature aroma of Longjing, complemented by a surprising undertone of orchid-like elegance. On the palate, it offers a refreshing and sweetly mellow flavor. Each sip leaves a lingering fragrance, enveloping you in the fresh essence of early spring.
