Recommended Gongfu Brewing Method

  • For a 120 mL (4 fl oz) teapot or gaiwan, use 6 g (0.21 oz) of tea.

  • For the first infusion, steep the tea for 24 seconds in water at a temperature at 95°C (203°F).

  • Steep the tea for 18 seconds for the second and third infusion.

  • For each subsequent infusion, increase the steeping time.

  • This tea is good for 8 or more infusions.

  • Use spring water or purified water. Do not use tap water.

  • Raw Pu'er is an unfermented tea made from Yunnan's large-leaf tree varieties. While its fresh profile may recall green tea, Raw Pu'er excels in both aroma and texture, and is renowned for its remarkable aging potential.

  • Our 2022 Mengsong Raw Pu'er comes from one of the "Six Renowned Tea Mountains Beyond the Lancang River". Situated at an average elevation exceeding 1,800 meters (5,900 feet) within the tropical rainforests of Xishuangbanna, this ancient tea garden is enshrouded in mist year-round. The local Hani people's deep respect for nature has kept this ecosystem remarkably preserved. The leaves were carefully selected from tall, ancient trees of a single variety.

Our Raw Pu’er benefits from the sun-drying processes executed to exacting standards, utilizing high-heat fixation techniques to preserve the active compounds to the maximum.

  • This tea's remarkable origin endows it with an outstand quality. It holds excellent prospects for aging while being enjoyable as a young tea. On the palate, it features a full-bodied flavor punctuated by a rich fruitiness. The mouthfeel is ample, balancing moderate bitterness with a thick texture. Its finish is sweet, leaving a long-lasting salivating aftertaste.
