A testament to beauty and craftsmanship
We proudly feature unique teaware handcrafted by independent artists and studios from Jingdezhen and across the expansive landscape of China.
Whether you’re choosing your first piece of teaware or looking to elevate your tea ritual, you’ll find inspiration here.
This Gaiwan features a rim that gently flares outward, with a smooth and elegant body contour. Fired in a wood kiln, the naturally formed glaze resembles the hue of fallen red petals. Rich in variation, each piece possesses its unique beauty.
With its unique nail-like knob and the thin yet elevated base design, this bowl is easy to grip. Its balanced weight ensures a comfortable hold. The thin body facilitates pouring, reducing the likelihood of spills. Its capacity is ideal for daily use, serving one to five people.
Teapots are crafted from a diverse range of materials, each boasting a distinct outlook and lending a unique flavor profile to the tea. The Yixing teapot, renowned for its exceptional tea-brewing qualities, is a must-have for tea enthusiasts. This delightful and rotund Duoqiu Yixing teapot is meticulously crafted from selected Zhu Ni clay. With a rich history and treasured place in Chinese tea culture, Zhu Ni clay is prized for its unique mineral composition that enhances the taste and aroma of the tea. Its warm, vermilion hue and pronounced grainy texture radiate a simple and comforting charm. Over time and with use, the color and luster of the teapot evolve, adding to its allure.
The pour from this teapot is smooth and graceful, with a clean and decisive cut-off. Its harmonious, rounded body fosters the expansion of the tea leaves, allowing the flavors of the tea to unfold beautifully.
These Rocky Teacups, created by artist Ruth Borgenicht and inspired by the spirit of Chinese landscapes, was featured in the Tea Alchemy experimental tea ceremony we hosted at Fou Gallery. Each piece is hand-molded, resulting in a unique shape that resembles a mountain rock when inverted. Its rounded base prevents it from standing upright, requiring it to be held in hand, thus reminding the tea guests to focus on the tea appreciation experience and be present.
The exterior of the teacup is glazed in brown and dark green, using a special technique to create a texture akin to mountain rocks. The interior is glazed in warm white, enhancing the visual appreciation of the tea's color and harmonizing with the warm tones of the exterior, imparting a sense of warmth.
Balancing artistry with practicality, this cup also offers excellent functionality. The shape fits comfortably in the hand, providing a pleasant grip. Its moderate size makes it suitable for daily use. Additionally, the thick glaze on the inside and the cup's thick body enhance its ability to retain heat and fragrance.
Using a faircup enhances the elegance of tea serving. This faircup, with its simple and classic design, offers great value and practicality, making it an approachable choice suitable for everyday use.
Made from transparent glass, this pitcher enables a clear view of the tea's beautiful color. Its meticulously designed spout ensures a cohesive and clean-cut flow, while the graceful curvature and slender body afford a light and comfortable grip.
