Recommended Gongfu Brewing Method

  • For a 120 mL (4 fl oz) teapot or gaiwan, use 4 g (0.14 oz) of tea.

  • For the first infusion, steep the tea for 30 seconds in water at a temperature of 90°C (194°F).

  • For each subsequent infusion, increase the steeping time by 10 seconds.

  • This tea is good for 4 infusions.

  • Use spring water or purified water. Do not use tap water.

  • Longjing tea, named after its place of origin, Longjing Village, is one of China’s most renowned green teas, known for its distinctive color, aroma, taste, and shape, as well as its rich cultural heritage.

  • Our Fuyang Longjing is harvested during the Pre-Qingming period, the first flush of the year. After resting through the winter, the tea trees grow slowly in early spring, allowing nutrients to accumulate naturally. This results in tender, aromatic buds with a fresh, sweet, and refreshing character. With its limited seasonal yield, this early harvest is especially prized.

Longjing production in Zhejiang is traditionally divided into three regions: West Lake, Yuezhou, and Qiantang. While West Lake Longjing is the most famous, Fuyang—located at the heart of the Qiantang region and close to West Lake—benefits from a similarly favorable growing environment. Less widely known, Fuyang Longjing offers outstanding quality and excellent value, making it a quiet favorite among seasoned tea drinkers.

  • This Fuyang Longjing displays a vibrant yellow-green liquor and flat, evenly shaped leaves. Both the dry leaves and the brewed tea release a rich roasted bean aroma. The taste is fresh, mellow, and full-bodied, with a subtle umami sweetness and a lingering fragrance that gently coats the palate. Each sip feels clear and calm, like stepping into a spring mountain landscape.
