Recommended Gongfu Brewing Method

  • For a 120 mL (4 fl oz) teapot or gaiwan, use 6 g (0.21 oz) of tea.

  • For the first infusion, steep the tea for 6 seconds in water at a temperature above 95°C (203°F).

  • For each subsequent infusion, increase the steeping time by 6s.

  • This tea is good for 6 or more infusions.

  • Use spring water or purified water. Do not use tap water.

  • Wuyi Rock Tea is the progenitor of Oolong teas and a rare gem in this category. Named for its unique growing environment in the weathered soil of Wuyi Mountains, this tea can be categorized based on origin: Zhengyan, Banyan, Zhoucha, and Waishan. Wuyi Rock Tea boasts a diversity of tea tree varieties, with the most prominent being Rougui, Shuixian, and Dahongpao.

  • In a market where Zhengyan teas are hard to find at reasonable prices, our Guilin Shuixian offers exceptional value as a Zhengyan. It is sourced from the Guilin within the Wuyi Mountain Scenic Area, near the renowned Shuiliandong region.

  • The unique and favorable natural environment of this area, combined with traditional craftsmanship and medium-light roasting techniques, gives this tea a rich aroma of nuts and flowers. It has a sweet taste with a slight bitterness that quickly disappears, and a subtle acidity that enhances the tea's fullness. The tea has a smooth body and a sweet, lingering aftertaste, carrying the distinctive terroir of authentic Zhengyan tea.
