Recommended Gongfu Brewing Method

  • For a 120 mL (4 fl oz) teapot or gaiwan, use 5 g (0.18 oz) of tea.

  • For the first infusion, steep the tea for 18 seconds in water at a temperature of 95°C (203°F).

  • Steep the tea for 12 seconds for the second infusion.

  • For each subsequent infusion, increase the steeping time.

  • This tea is good for 6 or more infusions.

  • Use spring water or purified water. Do not use tap water.

  • Red Tea is a tea category named for the distinctive red color of its brewed tea and spent leaves. It is crafted through a process of full oxidation. In the Western world, it's often referred to as 'black tea' due to the dark hue of its dry leaves.

  • As the originator of Red Tea, Lapsang Souchong originates from the scenic Wuyi Mountains. Our selection comes from Tongmuguan, the birthplace of red tea in the world, deep within the Wuyishan National Nature Reserve. The tea gardens are located in high mountain areas, benefiting from a unique ecological environment. The tea trees have been growing wild in the forests for over a hundred years, with minimal human intervention apart from manual weeding.

Traditionally, Lapsang Souchong is known for its special smoking process. Our tea, however, represents the modern, smoke-free style popular in China today. During the wilting and drying stages, we use traditional charcoal roasting instead of smoking, which evokes and enhances a rich floral and honey aroma to the leaves.

  • This tea is characterized by its profound floral and honey fragrance, complemented by a sweet and refreshing taste. Its full-bodied flavor is balanced with a persistent sweet aftertaste. Each sip promises a tranquil and authentically natural tea experience, echoing the serene essence of its mountain origins.
